what is monkeySee media?

What is this?

monkeySee media is a project in two parts. First, monkeySee media is the business face of my fledgling communications and photography business. My husband and I love taking photos; I do the bulk of the shooting while he helps with editing and occasionally with composition. We use a Canon Digital Rebel; it is a great size for intimate shooting. I am available for a variety of projects, as well as portrait/memory book shoots (see "Packages and Pricing" along the sidebar). I also specialize in grassroots communications strategy and free advertising for nonprofits on a budget; I have worked with a number of organizations in the Washington, DC area and can pinch a nickel three ways from Sunday.

Part the second: I really, really like pretty things. Graphic design, architecture, photography, cute boys, whatever--if it has good lines and interesting color, I'm in. In Web 2.0, those who can't do, post. So the second part of this project is linking to any and all things that I find aesthetically pleasing.

Like what?

Well, it's broken up into the following categories:
Typography [What? Fonts = art, if you look in the right place.]
Graphic Design
Wearable Art
Interior Design and Architecture
Housewares and Furniture
Photography
Web Design
Machinery
Cute and Fluffy Animals [not really; just wanted to see if you were paying attention]

What makes you so qualified to comment on pretty things?

Glad you asked! Well, you see...uh...ah...I know what I like, and like all people who think they have a good sense of humor and good taste but probably do not, I think I have good taste. So I'm sharing it.

What's your personal blog about?

"Traveling Monkeys" is the account of my day-to-day life. As of this writing, it's a chronicle of my move to Portland, ME and then to Honolulu, HI from Washington, DC. I hardly know what to pack for clothes.
